Calverton News is a local tip desk focused on stories that begin in Calverton and the surrounding Long Island community. We turn credible leads into reported stories by checking records, contacting sources, and giving people named in a story a fair chance to respond.
When a story is ready, we may pitch or share it with news organizations we work with. Each outlet makes its own independent decision about whether to publish it.

Zoning changes, construction, and plans for open land.
Environment and health
Pollution, contamination, and threats to local water, air, and wildlife.
Public safety and the courts
Police, fire, EMS, crime, and how cases are handled.
Business and workplaces
Unsafe conditions, consumer harm, and companies that aren’t playing fair.

By sending a tip, you confirm the information is true to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. Please don’t send anything you obtained illegally.
You give Calverton News permission to use the information you provide to research, report, and publish stories, and to share it with editors and news organizations we work with.
We don’t pay for tips, and we don’t guarantee that any tip will be investigated, reported, or published.
You can ask us to keep your name out of our reporting. No online form is completely anonymous, though. Our web host and internet providers may keep technical records such as IP addresses. If revealing your identity could put you at risk, think about whether this is the right channel.
Tips are stored in a private system. We limit access to our editorial team and people who work with us on the story, unless you agree otherwise or the law requires us to share them.
